Nambucca Heads is a small coastal town on the Mid-North Coast, about 4 km off the M1 between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. It is a break-the-drive stop with a river estuary, two headland lookouts, a short cafe strip and a train station 3 km out of town.
