Nalhati
Half a day is enough for Nalhati: visit the Shakti Pitha temple on the hill, see the sweet-leaf neem tree, then move on to Tarapith or Bakreshwar.
Nalhati is a small town in Birbhum district, West Bengal, known as one of the 51 Shakti Pithas — the site where Sati's throat is said to have fallen. The main draw is the Nalateshwari Temple on a hill, with a few other temples and mosques on nearby hills. Most visitors come for a few hours as a stop between Rampurhat and Tarapith or Bakreshwar.
