Myoko
妙高
Visit Myoko for a ski day or a half‑day hike; 1 day is enough unless you want multiple resort runs – then add a night.
Myoko is a small city in Niigata Prefecture, best known for heavy snowfall and three main ski areas. It is reachable by non‑JR trains from Nagano, Niigata or Tokyo, and a single day covers most winter activities; an overnight lets you explore multiple resorts or hike Mount Myōkō.

Scams and watch-outs
