Myitkyina

Spend 1–2 days in Myitkyina to see its pagodas, museum and Manau park, then use it as a base for a day trip to Indawgyi Lake.

Myitkyina is a small but historically interesting town in northern Myanmar. Its main sights are clustered near the centre and can be visited on foot. Most travellers stay one night and add a short trip to nearby Indawgyi Lake; a longer stay is only needed for the January Manau festival.
