Muskoka is cottage country: 1,600+ lakes, granite shoreline and small towns 20–40 minutes apart. It is not a walkable destination. Book a rental cottage or a town hotel months ahead for July–August, drive in on Highway 11 for Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville, and treat the lakes as the point of the trip, not the towns.
