Mungyeong is a spread-out county town in North Gyeongsang, best known for the Mungyeong Saejae mountain pass, a coal-mining museum and apple orchards. Buses and trains arrive in Jeomchon, the downtown, but the sights sit 10–25 km out in the hills. It works as a one-night stop with a car, or as a slow day trip if you accept taxi fares and thin evening buses.
