Mukutmanipur is a small town beside the Kangsabati dam and reservoir in Bankura district, West Bengal, about 55 km from Bankura and roughly 240–270 km from Kolkata. It is a picnic and weekend spot: a 14 km road over the earthen dam, a lake with ferry rides, Jain temples at Ambikanagar and Pareshnath, and forested hill country towards Jhilimili. There is little else to do, so one night is enough; two if you add Bishnupur or Jhilimili.
