Moritzburg is a small Saxon town 16 km northwest of Dresden, built around a moated hunting castle of the Saxon kings and its rococo pheasant palace. Almost everything worth seeing sits within a 2 km walk of the castle. It is a half-day or one-night stop, not a base: Dresden has far more beds and the same buses run from there.
