Morant Bay
Skip Morant Bay unless you are a history buff: the town is a 45-minute bus from Kingston and can be seen in 2–3 hours. Go for the Paul Bogle statue and the fort ruins, then head back.
Morant Bay is a small coastal town in Surrey County, eastern Jamaica, best known as the site of the 1865 Morant Bay Rebellion led by Paul Bogle. The main sights — the courthouse, the fort ruins and the memorial garden — are within a 5-minute walk of each other. Most travellers use it as a half-day trip from Kingston, not an overnight stop.
