Moore Haven is the county seat of Glades County, a small town on the Caloosahatchee River and the edge of Lake Okeechobee. Its main draws are the historic Glades County Courthouse (built 1928, survived the 1928 hurricane) and Gatorama, a classic Florida alligator farm 15 min north in Palmdale. There is no real restaurant or hotel scene; most travellers pass through on US 27 between Lake Placid and Clewiston.
