Mondaikadu
மொண்டைக்காடு
Half a day for the temple and beach, then move on to Nagercoil or Kanyakumari. Not a base.
Mondaikadu is a coastal town in Tamil Nadu, 22 km from Nagercoil and 41 km from Kanyakumari. Its main draw is the ancient Mondaikadu Bhagavathy Amman Temple, a 7th-century BC shrine shaped like a 12-foot anthill with five peaks. The annual 10-day Kodai festival in March is the peak event. Muttom Beach, 16 km away, offers rocky shores. Most travellers visit as a half-day stop between Nagercoil and Kanyakumari.
