Mogoșoaia
Half-day trip from Bucharest: palace and park in 2–3 hours, then back. Not a base — no reason to sleep here.
Mogoșoaia is a village just north of Bucharest with a palace built in 1698–1702 by Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, the best example of the Brâncovenesc style, and a large park by a lake. The palace is the draw and 2–3 hours covers it. Come from Bucharest for a morning or afternoon; there is no reason to stay overnight.
