Mocorito
Go for one night, not two: a walkable Pueblo Mágico of 5,400 people, 90 min from Los Mochis by car. Day-trip only if you drive in daylight.
Mocorito is a small colonial-era town in Sinaloa and one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos, known as the birthplace of chilorio and of the norteño band Los Tigres del Norte. The centre is a compact grid around the Plazuela Miguel Hidalgo: church, two small museums, a mural and a handful of restaurants. It is a weekend escape for Mazatlán and Culiacán residents, not a destination in itself, and the practical limit is the drive in and out.

On foot. The centre is a few blocks wide and everything listed here is within a 10-minute walk. For anything further, taxis wait near the Plazuela or your hotel can call one; ride-hailing apps generally do not work here.
