Skip Mims as a base unless you are towing an RV or riding the rail trail: one night, or a 2–3 h stop on US-1 between Titusville and New Smyrna Beach.
Mims is a small Brevard County town on US-1, about 20 min north of Titusville and roughly 45 min from Kennedy Space Center. It has no beach of its own and almost no lodging: its real draws are a golf course, a 10-mile flatwoods trail network and cheap food on the highway. Most travellers pass through on the way to the Space Coast or stop for the East Central Regional Rail Trail.

Get around
You need a car. US-1 runs through town, I-95 parallels it a mile or two west, and FL-46 comes in from the west. There is no useful local bus; the East Central Regional Rail Trail is the only car-free way in or out.
