Michigamme

Skip unless you have a car and a specific reason: the museum is open only in summer, and the village has no lodging or restaurant. A 30-minute stop on the way to Marquette or Houghton is enough.

Michigamme is a tiny unincorporated community on US 41 in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with a population under 300. Its only visitor attraction is the Michigamme Museum (open Memorial Day through September 30). There is no hotel, no restaurant and no gas station. Most travellers pass through in 10 minutes. If you are driving between Marquette and Houghton, you can stop for the museum; otherwise it is not a destination.
