Melchor Múzquiz
Go for one night, two at most: a small Pueblo Mágico grid you walk in half a day, with the Kickapoo and Mascogo ejidos and the Sabinas valley as the real reason to detour.
Melchor Múzquiz sits in the semi-desert of northern Coahuila, about 2 hours by road south of Piedras Negras on the US border. It is a Pueblo Mágico with a compact colonial-era grid, a paleontology museum built on local dinosaur and marine fossils, and two indigenous communities — the Kickapoo and the Mascogos, descendants of Black Seminoles who migrated here in the 19th century. Sights take half a day; the surrounding country takes the rest. Most travellers pass through in one night on the way between the border and Cuatro Ciénegas or Monclova.

Get around
The centre is a flat grid and you walk it: Plaza Principal to the church is under 5 min, and the museums are 15–25 min on foot from the square. For the ejidos, Parque la Cascada or anything outside town, take a taxi — they wait near the Plaza Principal or your hotel can call one. No useful local bus network for visitors.
