Melaghar
মেলাঘর
Half a day: see Neermahal, the water palace on Rudrasagar Lake, then move on. Not a base.
Melaghar is a small town in Tripura, known almost entirely for Neermahal, one of only two water palaces in India. The palace sits in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake and is the reason to stop. The town itself has no other major sights, so most visitors come from Udaipur or Agartala for a few hours, then leave.
