Maslinica
Skip unless you want an overnight in a quiet cove with a castle hotel and a marina; a day trip from Split is too long by ferry + bus.
Maslinica is a tiny west-coast village on Šolta, built around a 1703 Venetian castle (now a hotel-restaurant) and a marina for about 60 boats. It has no ferry dock — you reach it via Rogač, then a 5 km taxi or bus ride. The appeal is total quiet: pine woods, a cove, and the archipelago of seven islands offshore. Most travellers use it as a one-night escape from Split, not a day trip.
