Marmara is Istanbul plus three short-stop towns. Istanbul takes 4–5 nights on its own; Bursa, Edirne and the Gallipoli/Çanakkale axis each need a night because the road and ferry legs eat the day. Skip the region as a beach destination — the coast here is domestic and small-scale; the resort strip starts south of Izmir.
