The honest verdict

Manila's sights are close on a map and slow on the road. The trips that go wrong are the ones that fight three things at once: midday heat on open squares, a 10 km transfer at 17:00, and a flight booked for the wrong terminal. Four clusters cover a first visit; the airport is 30 minutes to 2 hours away, so a late landing decides which bed is safe.
