Manama is a morning-and-evening city: do Bab Al Bahrain and the souq at 08:00, spend midday in the museum, and take a car to every cluster.
Manama's sights are small and close, but the roads are wide and hot for most of the year. The trips that go wrong walk in July, miss the one museum hour, or forget that Muharraq is a separate island 20 minutes away. Four clusters cover a first visit: the souq and Bab Al Bahrain, the National Museum and Beit Al Quran, Adliya, and the pearl houses of Muharraq.

Language
Arabic is the official language, with the Bahraini Gulf dialect in daily use. English is standard in hotels, malls, business and among the large South Asian workforce; taxi drivers and older Bahrainis may speak little English.
