Malone is a small Franklin County town on US-11, just outside the Adirondack Park blue line, about an hour west of Interstate 87 and roughly 40 miles from Plattsburgh and Massena. It is a car stop, not a base: a Victorian main street, the Almanzo Wilder farm from Farmer Boy, a 36-hole golf course and a small ski hill.
