Mahudi
મહુડી
Mahudi is a half-day pilgrimage stop, not a base: visit the Jain temple complex, offer sukhadi and leave. No need to stay overnight.
Mahudi, in North Gujarat, is a Jain pilgrimage centre known for the Mahudi Jain Temple (established 1917) with its marble idol of Padmaprabhu and the shrine of protector deity Ghantakarna Mahavir. Devotees offer sukhadi, a sweet, which is then consumed within the temple complex. The town also has a Krishna temple and a pyramid-shaped Jain temple. Most visitors come from Mehsana, Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad for a few hours.
