Get around
The centre is walkable in 15 minutes, but it is not flat: expect steep lanes and slippery cobbles when wet. Buses to the suburbs and nearby towns leave from the bus station on Queen Victoria Street. Trains run from Macclesfield station, just east of the shopping area, to Manchester in about 20 min and London Euston in about 1 h 45 min.
