Lugo
Give Lugo one night, two if you walk the full wall loop and the cathedral slowly: the Roman walls are the reason to come, and they are free.
Lugo is the only city in Europe still wrapped in a complete Roman wall, a 2.1 km loop you can walk on top for nothing. The old town inside is small, flat and walkable in half a day; the rest of the city is ordinary Galician provincial life. Most travellers see it in a day, or use it as the start of the Camino Primitivo's last 100 km to Santiago.

Get around
Everything inside the walls is on foot and flat. Do not drive into the old town: streets are traffic-restricted and parking is hard. The bus station (Praza da Constitución) and the railway station (500 m east of the centre) are both a short walk from the walls.
