Lublin is eastern Poland's biggest city and the capital of Lubelskie, 1.5–2 h from Warsaw by train. Its Old Town is small, walkable and holds a Renaissance style of its own, plus the Majdanek camp museum on the city edge. Most travellers use two nights here, or three with a day trip to Kazimierz Dolny or Zamość.

Get around
The Old Town and centre are walkable; use buses and trolleybuses for the station, Majdanek and the skansen. Buy tickets at a kiosk or on board (exact change). A single ride is about 3.20 zł, a 24-hour ticket about 11 zł (2026 estimate). Trolleybus 156 links Majdanek, the Old Town and the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva. Taxis are cheap; use an app or a rank, not a driver who approaches you.
