Lower Egypt is the Nile Delta plus the Mediterranean strip west to Libya and the desert edge east to Suez — not a province, just a travel grouping. Cairo and Alexandria hold nearly all the headline sights; the Delta towns (Mansoura, Banha, Zagazig, Port Said) and the desert-edge sites (Saqqara, Fayum, Wadi El Natrun, El Alamein) work as day-trips or one-night stops.
