Get around
A car is the practical choice: sights, motels and the mall sit on Loop 281 and I-20, and sidewalks are patchy. COLT city buses run fixed routes across town but are slow and infrequent — check the current map and times. Greyhound serves a downtown bus station. Amtrak's Texas Eagle stops in Longview on the Dallas–St. Louis line, so you can arrive without a car and use taxis or rideshares.
