Give Londrina one night as a coffee-city stop between São Paulo and Foz do Iguaçu, or skip it — two nights only if you want the Mata dos Godoy forest.
Londrina is a wealthy coffee-and-agribusiness city of about half a million in northern Paraná, named after London because a British cotton firm funded the settlement in the 1930s. It has a compact downtown, a university, a big mall and good churrasco, but few headline sights. Most travellers use it as a comfortable one-night break on the road or rail-free corridor between São Paulo and Foz do Iguaçu, or as a base for the Maringá area.

Get around
City buses (TCGL) are frequent near the university in office hours and sparse otherwise — waits over an hour happen. Taxis are everywhere and short hops run about R$15–20. Ride-hailing apps work in the centre. A car helps for the outlying parks and the Mata dos Godoy reserve.
