The honest verdict

Lomé sits on the coast next to the Ghana border. The centre is compact and walkable by day, but heat, motorbike taxis (zémidjans) and traffic are constant and cards are accepted at few places. Four walking areas cover a first visit; Lake Togo, Togoville and the hills at Kpalimé are separate trips by car.
