Get around
The centre, pier and both shores are walkable. The Great Orme Tramway runs from Victoria Station up to the summit; a cable car runs from Happy Valley in season. Local buses link the town with Llandudno Junction, Conwy and Colwyn Bay; the Conwy Valley line runs inland to Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog. A car helps for Snowdonia and the coast beyond Conwy.

- Sea conditions on the North Shore can be rough; swim only between the flags and never off the pier.
- Many seafront restaurants and attractions shut or cut hours from November to February.
A low-crime seaside town; the real risks are the sea, the weather and the headland. Watch for slippery paths on the Great Orme, keep back from the promenade edge in a swell, and check tram and cable-car running before you climb.
