Little Rock is Arkansas's capital and largest city, set where the Ozarks, the Ouachitas and the flat Delta meet. The sights cluster in a compact downtown and a short westward strip along I-630, so two nights is enough for the core. Spring and fall are the good windows; summer is hot and humid, and the city is car-first outside the River Market.

Get around
Downtown is walkable and the free Metro Streetcar loops the River Market, the Clinton library and Argenta in North Little Rock. For anything outside that loop, drive: Rock Region Metro buses run city-wide but slowly. The Arkansas River Trail is a paved loop for bikes and on foot.
