Linden
Half a day to one night: see the museum and Sky Lake, then continue to Georgetown or the interior. Not a base.
Linden is Guyana's second city, a former bauxite mining town on the Demerara River, about 100 km south of Georgetown. It has one museum and a flooded quarry lake (Sky Lake) for a short stop. Most travellers pass through on the way to the interior or use it as a low-cost overnight before a flight from the airstrip. The town itself is quiet; the main draw is the river and the colonial-era Watooka House.
