Limassol District runs from the seafront city up into the Troodos foothills in under an hour. The city has the beds, the beach and the nightlife; the wine villages (Omodos, Pachna) and the mountain resorts (Platres, Agros) are day-trip or one-night add-ons. A car turns the district from a beach stop into the best-value base on the island.
