Its draw is the 1960s hyperboloid tower on Ještěd, a compact neo-Renaissance square, and the Jizera cross-country trail network. - Mountain weather on the Ještěd ridge can differ from the city: check the forecast before you set off.
- Weekend buses to Bedřichov and the Jizera trailheads can fill in ski season; go early (check).
Liberec is a calm regional city; the real risks are mountain weather on Ještěd, unlit trails after dark, and pickpockets around the bus station. Keep to marked paths and carry a layer.
