Levoča
Sleep 1 night inside the walls: the square, St James church and the wall take half a day, and the town goes quiet by about 20:30.
Levoča is a walled Renaissance town on the Spiš heritage circuit, 25 km east of Poprad and 8 km north of the main Košice–Bratislava rail line. Its UNESCO-listed centre is small enough to walk in an afternoon, and St James church holds the tallest wooden altar in the world, carved by Master Paul. Most travellers see it in a day; one night lets you add Mariánska hora and Spiš Castle.
