Lebanon packs a Mediterranean coast, a mountain ridge and an inland valley into a small area, so the same week can be beach weather at sea level and jacket weather an hour's drive uphill. That is the main thing to plan around: pick your base by season, not just your dates.
Spring and autumn give the widest range of options. Summer is reliable for the coast and the high mountains but hot and humid in Beirut and Tripoli. Winter shuts down most mountain hiking, brings rain to the coast and snow to the peaks, and is the quietest and cheapest stretch of the year.

Cost and crowds by month
Peak pricing tracks the coast in July and August and the holiday weeks around Christmas and New Year in Beirut. Outside those, Lebanon is a value destination by regional standards, and the gap between peak and off-season accommodation is wide.

Weather and what to pack
The coast is Mediterranean: mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The Mount Lebanon ridge is cooler and wetter, with snow above roughly 1,500 m in winter, and the inland Bekaa valley is drier and more continental, with hotter summers and colder winters than the coast.
Pack layers whatever the season, because a day trip from Beirut to the mountains can drop 8–10 °C or more. In summer add sun protection and a light rain shell for the odd thunderstorm; in winter bring a waterproof jacket and shoes with grip for wet stone streets.

Timing around events and closures
Religious and national holidays change how the country runs. During Ramadan, some restaurants and cafés adjust hours, and Eid brings travel and family visits. Christmas and New Year fill Beirut hotels. Public holidays can close museums and shops for a day, so check opening times the week you travel.
Summer weekends are when Lebanese families head to the mountains and the coast, so coastal roads out of Beirut and mountain guesthouses fill on Fridays and Saturdays. Shifting a trip to Sunday–Thursday can make a noticeable difference.
