Larnaca district is the island's front door: the main airport sits inside it, the town has a seafront strip and a salt lake, and the villages climb into the hills within 30–40 minutes. Most travellers sleep one or two nights here, see the town and Choirokoitia, then drive on. Stay longer only if you are diving the Zenobia or want a quiet village base.
