Laoang
Half a day is enough to see the Batag Island Lighthouse and the town centre; stay one night if you want to island-hop or attend the fiesta.
Laoang is the economic hub of northeastern Samar, but most travellers pass through on the way to Catarman or Capul. The main draw is the 1907 Batag Island Lighthouse and a handful of beaches and cliffs. The town itself is compact and walkable, and the fiesta in late September adds colour if you time it right.
