Landshut

Landshut is Lower Bavaria's capital and its medieval centre came through the war largely intact, so the historic street plan is still walkable end to end. The headline draw is the Landshuter Hochzeit, a medieval wedding re-enactment staged once every four years (next summer 2027); outside that, the city works as a compact day trip from Munich with one very tall brick church and a hilltop castle.
