Lake Ozark
Half a day to one night: walk the Strip, see Bagnell Dam, eat lakefront. Not a base — use Osage Beach or Camdenton for longer stays.
Lake Ozark is the original resort town on the Lake of the Ozarks, built around the Bagnell Dam. The Strip (Business Route 54) is a mile of mom-and-pop shops, bars and lake-view patios. Most visitors spend a few hours here on the way to or from the lake, or a single night if they want a walkable evening.
