Lac-Mégantic is a small lakefront town of about 6,000 people in the Eastern Townships, near the Maine border, 100 km east of Sherbrooke. It is a base for Mont-Mégantic National Park, the ASTROlab observatory and a dark-sky reserve, plus lake beaches and granite-country drives.
