Kodiakkarai
கோடியக்கரை
Go for a half-day or a full day if you are a birder: the sanctuary and the Chola temple are the draw. One night is enough.
Kodiakkarai (Point Calimere) is a quiet coastal town in Tamil Nadu, best known for the Point Calimere Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary and the 9th-century Kodi Kuzhagar Temple. Migratory birds arrive October–March; the rest of the year the town is very quiet. Most visitors come from Nagapattinam or Velankanni for a day trip.
