Get around
Downtown is compact and walkable — the museums, Holy Resurrection Cathedral and the small boat harbour sit within a few blocks. The island's public road system is under 100 miles, so a rental car is the practical way to reach Fort Abercrombie, Pasagshak and trailheads. Beyond the roads you need a charter floatplane or boat. Bicycles can be rented in town.
