Kleinarl
One night or a day-trip from Salzburg or St. Johann im Pongau: hike to Jägersee or Tappenkarsee in summer, ski in Ski Amadé in winter. Not a base for non-skiers.
Kleinarl is a small village at the end of the Kleinarl valley, on the edge of Hohe Tauern National Park. Its main draws are the Jägersee and Tappenkarsee alpine lakes for summer hiking and the Ski Amadé slopes in winter. Most visitors come for a day or one night on the way to or from the mountains.
