Give Klang half a day from Kuala Lumpur for bak kut teh and Little India, or one night if you want Pulau Ketam; it is not a base.
Klang is the royal town of Selangor and the original home of bak kut teh, 50 minutes from KL Sentral by KTM Komuter. The town centre is small and walkable, but the sights are modest and the buses now stop 8 km out at Klang Sentral. Come for the food and Little India, add Pulau Ketam if you have a night, and keep the rest of your trip in Kuala Lumpur or elsewhere in Selangor.
