Keystone Heights
Skip as a destination unless you are camping at Gold Head Branch State Park or visiting family: half a day for the park, then move on to St. Augustine or Jacksonville.
Keystone Heights is a small inland town in Clay County on the First Coast of Florida, population about 1,350. Its main draw is Gold Head Branch State Park, a 2,000-acre park with sandhills, lakes, hiking and camping. There is little else for a traveller: no downtown worth a detour, a handful of chain restaurants and no nightlife. Most visitors use it as a stop between Gainesville and Jacksonville or as a base for the park.
