Kelowna is BC's largest inland city and the centre of Okanagan wine country, on a 135 km lake. Summer is for swimming, boating and golf; Sep–Oct is for wine tasting; winter sends skiers to Big White, 55 km away. Sights are spread along Highway 97, so a car or a bike helps.

Get around
Highway 97 runs through the city and traffic is heavy in summer, especially at the floating bridge. BC Transit buses cover the centre (route 97 crosses the lake to West Kelowna); a car is easier for wineries and Big White. Bike lanes are extensive downtown; taxis and ride-hailing (Kabu, Lucky to go) fill the gaps.
