Skip Katni unless you are a railway enthusiast or need a stop between Khajuraho and Bandhavgarh: half a day for the fort, then move on.
Katni is a mid-sized rail junction in Eastern Madhya Pradesh with one notable fort and a claim to India's geographic centre. Most travellers pass through on the way to Bandhavgarh National Park or Khajuraho. The city itself has limited sights, so a half-day stop is enough unless you are breaking a long train journey.
