Katakolo
Half a day: walk the harbour, climb to the lighthouse, then head to Olympia. Not a base — use Pyrgos or Olympia for the night.
Katakolo is a small cruise port on the Ionian coast of Elis, the gateway for day-trippers to ancient Olympia. The village itself offers a short harbour promenade, a lighthouse walk, and a few tavernas. Most travellers stop for a few hours between a cruise and Olympia, or as a quick lunch break on a road trip along the coast. It is not a destination for a multi-day stay.
